WSSD is supporting the interests of politically oriented LGBT in Washington by facilitating the start-up of chapters in various parts of the state.
Meetings are planned on Sunday, July 13 in the 5th LD and on July 26 in the 35th LD/Kitsap Peninsula.
The 5th LD meeting will be a pot-luck BBQ from 2-5 PM at the home of a member in North Bend.
The 35th/Kitsap meeting will be held at the Port Orchard Library on July 26 but will move to Belfair, Shelton and Poulsbo during coming months.
A 1st LD meeting date will be announced shortly.

The Washington State Stonewall Democrats host a fundraiser that benefits Democratic candidate Phyllis Huster in her upcoming State Senate race in Legislative District 5, and will be held at the Capitol Hill home of Rod Hearn and Roger Nyhus on June 22nd from 2 to 5 p.m.
State Senator Ed Murray, State Representatives Marko Liias and Jim Moeller, Seattle City Councilwoman Sally Clark and Pierce County Councilman Tim Farrell are co-hosts of the event, which will feature the infamous menu of exotic hors d’oeuvres made by Voodoo Kitchen Catering.
In a challenge to politically aware progressive Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people of the region, the national organization of Stonewall Democrats gave Washington State Stonewall Democrats a challenge grant of $5000. "This will really put the wind in our sails for this election cycle," said Anita Latch, Washington State Stonewall president. For every dollar that the local organization raises it will get another from the national organization up to $5000, doubling the effectiveness of those who contribute to the campaign.
